India faces an immense climate challenge, as the 7th most vulnerable country and the 3rd largest greenhouse gas emitter. However, it also has immense potential to tackle these problems effectively, housing a plethora of indigenous climate solutions that can slow the pace of climate change and empower communities to withstand its harmful impacts. These climate solutions are community-first, cost-effective and consider on socio-economic benefits. But, to be scaled impactfully and effectively, these solutions need greater visibility and funding. This discussion will range from the catalytic role played by philanthropic funding to advance innovative, novel climate solutions, to the reality of non-profits working in India, and touch upon the challenges and opportunities associated with bolstering impactful climate action in India.
