At Lightship Library, books are more than stories, they're invitations to see the world differently, to ask better questions, and to fall in love with the Earth long before we ask children to protect it. As a living library, Lightship isn’t a static collection but an intentionally evolving space where every book earns its place. After years of work, they’ve learned that 80 thoughtfully chosen books spark far more discovery than 800 random titles. Through detailed child profiling, they match the right book to the right reader, at exactly the moment they’re ready for it.
For Godrej Conscious Collective’s “Reclaiming Cool: Beating the Heat Together”, Lightship has curated a special collection of 250+ titles shaped around the event’s three pillars: Biodiversity, Consciously Built Spaces, and Circular Materials.
This collection spans picture books that teach resilience through trees, journeys into rainforests and coral reefs, narrative non-fiction featuring environmental heroes, explorations of water cycles and natural systems, poetry that celebrates birdsong and seasons, stories about how humans and animals build their homes, and gentle introductions to composting, recycling, and circularity.
Curated by Neha Aurora, Library Educator and Play-Based Facilitator, the selection blends hidden gems with beloved classics, bringing together Indian and global voices across formats—from board books for toddlers to graphic novels for teens.
