What happens when waste is seen not as an end, but as a beginning? Denim, one of the world’s most resource-intensive textiles, often ends its life in landfills. By reworking old jeans into vibrant planters, this workshop reframes material afterlife, highlighting how creativity can intervene in cycles of excess and discard. In doing so, it places participants at the heart of a process where everyday consumption is questioned, and waste becomes a site of possibility. Curated by Scrapshala, Jeans to Green invites participants to transform worn-out denim into handcrafted fabric planters. Through a hands-on process guided by artisans, participants will bring new life to discarded material, walking away with a planter that is both functional and symbolic- a vessel for greenery, renewal, and sustainable living.
