Bonding Over Brick

By Studio PKA

This session invites participants to explore architecture as a living, responsive process. Guided by the team at Studio PKA, attendees will engage with design strategies that consider both context and climate, with a special focus on cooling within spaces.

Through hands-on activities, participants will experiment with materials - country brick, terracotta tiles - and construction techniques to understand how buildings can naturally stay cool. The workshop is designed as a dynamic, evolving experience, each intervention adding to a collective stand-alone installation/ exhibit that grows over the course of the session.

By actively building, testing, and observing, participants discover how design, materiality, and planning intersect to create comfortable, sustainable environments. The session encourages dialogue, curiosity, and experimentation, turning architectural principles into tangible, immersive learning.
