This playful, hands-on workshop invites young participants to explore the magic, chemistry, and creativity of natural colours through real textiles. Guided by the artisans of Colorkari Dyeing, participants will learn simple yet timeless Shibori resist-dyeing techniques using popsticks, blocks, and rubber bands to form intricate patterns.
They will witness the wonder of the Indigo vat, watching hues shift from green to brilliant blue, and experiment with the cheerful yellow of Marigold, discovering the beauty of natural pigments in action.
By the end of the session, participants will take home their custom-dyed creations—a scrunchie and a handkerchief and gain a deeper appreciation for the Earth’s palette and the sustainable craft legacy of Colorkari Dyeing.
