This hands-on workshop introduces participants to tools from Speculative Fiction and Futures Visualisation, developed and practiced at The India Futures Lab in Goa. Centered around the theme of cooling, the session invites participants to collaboratively imagine future possibilities, creating a shared newspaper from the future and diegetic prototypes- tangible, fictional design concepts that explore future realities and aspirations.
Participants will engage in creative exercises using studio tools and data-driven insights to produce quick speculative mockups, pushing boundaries to envision bolder, more inclusive futures. The session concludes with brief presentations and a group discussion, offering space to share insights and reflections.
The workshop is conducted in collaboration with Juhi Pandey (Crafts Practitioner and Textile Designer) and Morningstar Khongthaw (Living Root Architect, Meghalaya), bridging craft, design, and speculative futures.
