CoolAnt is building nature-inspired, climate-responsive building envelopes. These are made using terracotta to provide an eco-friendly sustainable cooling solution to building spaces and reduce air conditioning load in buildings.
Monish Siripurapu is an architect and 'Antrepreneur', founder of Ant Studio. He is also the founder of CoolAnt. He believes that there is a huge potential in intertwining our traditional systems with modern advancements in material science and technology. CoolAnt's processes are carefully & thoughtfully designed to have the least impact on the environment during the manufacturing process, usage and after the product’s life cycle. The use of vernacular material such as terracotta reduces embodied energy, passive energy strategies reduce environmental impact and craft practices give CoolAnt a distinct artistic character.
Like ants that work with earth and create beautiful ant hills that are climatically sensitive and sophisticated, CoolAnt aspires to provide the world with climate responsive architecture.
