The large sphere installation reimagines the Godrej Home Decor handles, transforming functional elements into a captivating work of art. Crafted from brass—a metal steeped in historical and cultural significance—these handles were born from an in-depth study of Indian homes. The study identified four key design trends shaping modern Indian living: Urban Chic, Euro Modern, Smart Ethnic, and Neo Luxury, all unified by the desire for timelessness. Brass, with its enduring charm and versatility, emerged as the ideal material to complement this diverse aesthetics.
Designed with laser-cut metal discs and rings, the sphere celebrates the indigenous craftsmanship and enduring legacy of brass. This innovative installation not only showcases the exceptional design of the handles but elevates them into sculptural masterpieces, seamlessly blending heritage, functionality, and artistry into a timeless expression of design. The sphere’s core symbolises the Earth’s core, representing life, balance, and vitality. It reflects both the Earth’s essence and Godrej’s core values, with sustainability at the heart of everything we do.
