Punah is a project that was started by Godrej Enterprises Group, back in 2017. The project was called to life in response to the vast quantities of industrial waste produced by factories. This year Godrej has collaborated with Scrapshala to explore waste materials from the Godrej factories. The women at Scrapshala have explored waste like wooden scraps, bulbs, cartons and metal plates to design conscious artisanal product line that aims to solve the problem of overconsumption and help in minimization of waste being sent to landfills that adds to the environmental degradation.
Scrapshala is a women-led conscious Indian brand with a purpose of making premium environment-friendly alternatives available to everyone. They achieve this by reviving traditional Indian handicraft in a sustainable manner using the approach of upcycling.
