CEEW and Godrej Design Lab has worked on a study to explore the opportunities for sustainability in the built environment in India. As an outcome of this research, this installation highlights the issue of the Urban Heat Island Effect as a common environmental problem occurring in metropolitan areas. In Mumbai 2.0, visitors will be able to discover the findings of the report through data-driven case studies on successful applications of passive cooling solutions in India and around the world. They will also get a chance to experiment with the application of various passive cooling solutions through a 3D render of an urban ‘hotspot’ in Mumbai, as well as a VR immersive game.
